Compaq (DEC) Alpha chip cpu + Linux operating system are now spported
in two ways.

1) If you have True64 unix (digital unix), it is recomended to complile
   the library and executables there.  The executables can run on Alpha
   Linux, provided that you have to rebuild the kernel of the Alpha Linux
   to include the ECOFF support.  How to do it will be found on the Web
   faq.

   In Cosmos,  
   You have to use site.configTrue64ForAlphaLinux as the site.config.

   The executable can run on both True64 and Alpha Linux	
      
2) If you have no True64 unix system, you have to down load compaq
   Fortran from,  
       http://www.digital.com/fortran/linux/te-download.html
   
   In this case, you have to use site.configCF_AlphaLinux as the
    site.config in Cosmos.

   Note:  The comilation speed is very slow.
         /lib/cpp says that the odd number of ' or " in any one
         line is error. So we disregarded such errors issued form cpp.
       However, odd number  of " is sometimes  hurmful for complilation.
       You should not use it even in comment.
